Career Coaching

Whether you’re looking to develop your career, transition to a new role or re-invent your working life completely, I will help you to clarify your career aspirations, give you confidence in all you have to offer the world and support you to find work that makes your soul sing!

Career coaching is for you if…
  • You’re ambitious: keen to grow and develop your career but not sure where to start. You’d like the support of someone not connected with your company to help you lay the foundations for a successful and fulfilling career.
  • You’re returning from parental leave and would like to ease the transition, balance the priorities of your work and home life, re-engage with your role and re-build professional relationships.
  • You’re feeling stuck or under-valued in your current role and you’re looking to transition to a new role and company that excites and energises you.
  • Your role has been made redundant and you’d like support to navigate the practical and emotional challenges, rebuild your self-confidence and define the next chapter of your career.
  • You’re overwhelmed and exhausted by the demands of your current role and it’s time for a change. You feel called to do work that is more meaningful and aligned with your values – but have no idea what that could be – or you have so many ideas and don’t know how to choose.

“The time I have spent with Emma has been extremely valuable as I ready myself ahead of the most significant career change for me in the last 25 years. Emma is incredibly personable, she quickly put me at ease. Her flexibility was fantastic and quickly adapted sessions to suit my needs at that time. She certainly knows her stuff and I now feel fully equipped both practically (I have a CV and a documented plan!) and, most importantly, have the confidence to take this leap of faith and step out into the big wide world! Thank you Emma for your guidance, insight and patience.”
Alison – Career Coaching client

I work with professionals at all levels – from graduates and first-time managers to emerging leaders and C-suite executives –  to rediscover their unique purpose and passion, explore the possibilities, unlock potential and transform their professional performance.  I will be your ‘thinking partner’, co-creating the space for you to reconnect with the magnificent human behind your roles and responsibilities.  Then, we will explore what’s most important to you, develop a clear and authentic vision for your career, and I will provide ongoing support and accountability as you work towards your goals.

  • Career development – For ambitious professionals looking for growth and advancement. We will lay the foundations for a successful, fulfilling working life, enhance your capabilities and build your credibility to ensure you’re well-positioned to take advantage of opportunities within the business. You will leave with a clear plan and the confidence to proactively manage your career.
  • Career transition – For those returning to work after parental leave, I will support you to re-engage with your role and re-build professional relationships, while balancing the priorities of your work and home life. For those looking for a new role in a similar industry, we will define the next chapter of your career and prepare you to transition into a new role and company that and energises you.
  • Career re-invention – For those who feel called to do work that is more meaningful and aligned with your values – but don’t know how to choose. We rediscover what is truly important to you, what you love and what energises you, then combine it with your knowledge, skills and strengths to uncover possibilities. We explore the options to choose the right career for you, then create an action plan to make your vision a reality.
  • Career preparation – For those looking to make a change, we create your career toolkit to prepare you for finding your next role. We will update your CV, refresh your LinkedIn profile and identify where to look for advertised roles to create your job-hunting plan. We activate the power of your network to uncover the hidden job market and refine your interview technique. I will support you to negotiate your remuneration package and plan your first 30-90 days in your new role.

We start with a no-obligation, 30-minute conversation to discuss your challenges, your goals and how coaching can help you.  I’ll explain how I work and answer any questions you may have.

If you choose to work with me, I suggest an initial programme of eight one-hour coaching sessions that typically take place every two or three weeks. This allows us to set your goals for the coaching relationship, work towards them with my ongoing support and embed lasting change. You are very welcome to work with me for longer and if so, we can discuss a bespoke coaching programme that suits your needs.

For self-motivated professionals who cannot make the investment required for the career coaching programme above, I offer a one-off, two-hour career coaching conversation to get you thinking about your career and the possibilities open to you. This is a great start to find clarity, outline the direction of your career aspirations and put you on the right track to success.

Why work with me?

I am a professionally trained and qualified coach with a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential from the International Coach Federation (ICF). Prior to becoming a coach, I had a successful 20-year career in marketing communications spanning a diverse range of organisations from a small mobile technology start-up to Nationwide, the world’s largest building society.

In addition to a strong corporate background, I was the lead recruiting manager for the marketing department at Nationwide and have read hundreds of CVs and sat in on dozens of interviews. I know what companies are looking for in the ideal candidate and I share this ‘insider perspective’ with you!

I have worked in industries including including nuclear energy, telecommunications, travel and tourism and financial services. This diversity is reflected in my client base where I have had the privilege of coaching individuals from organisations including RNLI, MARS, Proctor and Gamble, JP Morgan Chase, Liverpool Victoria, Nationwide Building Society, ReAssure Life, Bournemouth University, Thames Water, McDonalds and Lenovo.

“Emma is an excellent career coach – quickly assessing my requirements and adapting her approach and advice accordingly, providing just the right information at each stage to guide and support me. Emma balances a warm and supportive manner while still challenging your pre-conceived ideas. I found her support invaluable and would not hesitate to recommend her.”
